Family portrait sessions are about to pick back up because cooler weather is right around the corner! Since Fall and Winter are usually when I do the most family sessions getting to do this one in the Summer was so nice! Summer sessions have the most beautiful warm light, which is my favorite! The Carlisle family met me bright and early for their family session in downtown Columbia. To explain the people in these images may get a little confusing so bear with me! BUT—Vickie and Mark (the grandparents) are Amanda’s parents and Amanda is married to my husbands (Ryan) brother Clay. Make sense?!? So this wasn’t just a typical family session. It was able to work with members of my own family!
It is always an honor when a family member allows you to capture their photos but it is also a little nerve racking too! I don’t know what it is about taking pictures of best friends and family members but I always seem to get more nervous! These photos turned out wonderful and I am loving the morning light that we were able to have at the SC State House! The weekend before this session I shot an engagement session at the State House in the morning as well. Both times the light was beautiful! It may be my new favorite time to shoot! You can view that session HERE.
I hope that you enjoy viewing some of my favorites from this session!
What an honor it was to capture these images for this family! I hope that they will treasure these for years to come!
