Finding the perfect wedding photographer
I am sure you found this post because you are probably newly engaged and have been googling wedding photographers in Columbia! Am I right?! Well look no further! I’m right here! No, seriously! I know the wedding planning process can be stressful! There are about a million different vendors that you need to book and you probably don’t even know where to begin! I would say when planning your wedding you should start with nailing down a wedding date, finding and booking a venue and then find your wedding photographer. Speaking of booking a wedding photographer, here are 5 simple steps to take during the planning process that will help you get started.
- figure out what type of style you are wanting
Style. As in, what style of photography are you wanting for you wedding day? There are so many different styles to choose from! Just to name a few styles, film, light and airy, dark and moody…There are so many styles out there now days and nailing down what type you are looking for is a good first step to finding your perfect wedding photographer.
- find a photographer that you mesh well with
Out of all the vendors you book for your wedding day, your wedding photographer will be spending the most time with you during your big day! Making sure that your personalities compliment one another is very important! For example if your personality is more introverted you definitely wouldn’t want to book a photographer who is an over the top extrovert!
- view their most recent weddings
Take a look at some of their work! Usually, most photographers have a blog where they post their most recent shoots and weddings. Take an hour or two and view their work! They may even have a section on their website where you can view their wedding day services. Which leads me to the next thing…
- ask about their collections or packages and talk about pricing
Ask them about their collections, packages and services for the wedding day. Almost all photographers have different packages that you can choose from. Some of the packages may include an engagement and a bridal session, where as some photographers may only offer day of services. Everyone sets up their packages differently and with different price points so do a little research and find out your best options! Tip: If you LOVE a photographer but their packages don’t fit into your budget you can always ask for a custom quote or let them know your budget and I bet they could fit a way to make it work!
- set up a meeting
Meet them! It’s nice to put a name with a face! During this meeting you can go over any questions you may have about their collections, packages and wedding day services. This meeting is also a good time to just chat, tell them about your wedding plans and if you’re ready, discuss how to book them for your wedding date!
I hope that helped! Let me know if you have any questions! Happy planning!
